Sterling Silver Jewelry Care

Like all our most treasured relationships in life, sterling silver requires special care to preserve its appearance and longevity. Sterling silver is comprised of a mixture of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals to enhance luster, strength, and durability.

Sterling silver tarnishes when exposed to salty air, chlorine, sulfur, humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, household bleach and other strong chemicals. To prevent tarnish as much as possible, we recommend that you store your jewelry in a safe, dry place when engaging in the following activities:

  • Household and outdoor chores
  • Showering, bathing, or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the ocean (Basically leave this in the locker if you are spending the day at the spa!)
  • Using lotion, hair products, fragrances, and other cosmetics
  • Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
  • Preparing meals

However, we also do realize that it isn't always practical to remove and store your jewelry.  Have no fear, we got you! A silver polishing cloth is included in each order so that you can use to bring your piece back to its original shine when needed.
